Social value is the difference that organisations can make in not just what kind of services they deliver, but how they deliver them. A commercial cafe, for example, may provide a great service, but relatively little social value. A community cafe, by contrast, that does all the things the commercial cafe does, and employs people with learning disabilities, may also provide a great service and create lots of social value via the impact of employing people who often have less opportunity to gain the benefits of a job.

Voscur works with commissioners who design and buy services, and VCSE organisations that would like to deliver services, to help them work together to create the most impact and social value through the delivery of public services.

The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) has launched a new strategy for equality, diversity and inclusion amongst fundraisers, making a business case for a more representative workforce.

It was developed by an expert panel (including Jenny Wildblood, Voscur's Development Officer and Funding Lead) and adopted by the IoF Board of Trustees.

West Women of the Year Awards 2019
20 May, 2019

The West Women of the Year Awards 2019 acknowledged the contribution of female leaders and pioneers in the VCSE sector at last week’s ceremony.

Voscur’s CEO and a number of female leaders from member groups made the shortlist of 100 most inspiring women in the West and some were among the award winners on the night.

Nominees came from many different fields, including charity, business, education and sport, and we are pleased that the contribution of the VCSE sector was recognised within several categories.

Voscur's popular AGM and Social Impact Awards are back for 2019-20, at the Great Eastern Hall of Brunel's SS Great Britain.

This event will offer the opportunity to network with key activists from across the VCSE sector, as well as with supporters from business, local politics, and the public sector. Following the formal AGM, speeches and drinks, we have the Voscurs - our social impact awards, celebrating the hard work of local organisations and individuals to support their community.
