We're inviting you to the online launch event for a new city-wide report that looks at Bristol's voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector response to COVID-19 and how we can use it to inform a VCSE strategy for the future. 

The report, called Designing a New Social Reality: The Future of the Bristol Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise Sector Beyond COVID-19, was written by Black South West Network (BSWN) in partnership with Voscur and Locality. It was funded by Power To Change Trust, Bristol City Council and Quartet Community Foundation.

The charity Sue Ryder is calling for statutory bereavement leave to support people who are grieving. Whilst statutory paid leave would have an initial cost, Sue Ryder believes the long-term benefits outweigh this and offset the current £23 billion lost to the economy due to grief.

Black South West Network (BSWN) has completed new research highlighting the impact that COVID-19 has had on Bristol’s VCSE sector.

The report, Priority Areas for Investment for an effective VCSE recovery post-Covid, assesses how to foster greater community resilience in the new operating environment, and ultimately provide evidence for a thoroughly informed sector that can strengthen a post-lockdown recovery strategy.

 

A full-scale policy conference with a range of influential keynote speakers, this event will cover COVID-19 response in the VCSE sector, communicating the value of our work, policy and regulation, data protection and fundraising innovation.
