Bristol City Council has set up the Youth Sector Support Fund to support Bristol-based organisations working with local children and young people, aged 8-19 years. This grants programme will support community-based activities that are preventative and focussed on children and young people who may be at risk of adverse outcomes. This can be preventative and early intervention work that addresses:

•    Risky behaviour – e.g. anti-social, crime and being at risk of criminal exploitation
•    Mental health
•    Low aspirations

Bristol Redistro's sixth funding round is now open for applications until 5pm on Saturday 26 October.

ristol Redistro is a participatory fund which means the people who make the decisions are from the communities affected by those decisions. Every funding round brings together people from previously-funded groups to form a decision-making panel, and they then decide which applications are successful.

This round will award 10 grants of £1,000.

Charities and not-for-profit organisations in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath, North East Somerset, and North Somerset can apply for grants of up to £30,000 to support projects that help older people live fulfilling lives. The St Monica Trust's Volunteering and Employment for Older People Fund aims to promote positive perceptions of ageing and enhance the employability and volunteer opportunities available to older individuals in the community.

The Naturesave Trust, an environmental charity, has opened its September-October 2024 funding round, focusing on energy efficiency. This round aims to support charities, voluntary organisations, and businesses in enhancing building energy efficiency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants and conserve water. The Trust, which allocates a portion of its income from Naturesave Insurance to environmental and conservation projects across the UK, offers grants of up to £5,000 for eligible initiatives.

The Corra Foundation Henry Duncan grant fund offers up to £40,000 across five years (up to £8,000 per year)

Who is the funding for? Charities and registered not-for-profits with an annual income of up to £250,000 whose work supports women and girls. Corra Foundation will also commit 50% of the fund budget to support organisations led by people of colour.

When will you hear back? End of February 2025.

Grants of up to £6,000 are available to registered charities working to improve the wellbeing, welfare and education of children and adults in communities throughout the UK. The funding, made available by the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation, will support initiatives that benefit communities by reducing poverty and homelessness, improving access to education, and enhancing the well-being of the elderly. This includes combating isolation, managing Dementia and Alzheimer's, and providing later life/palliative care.

Registered charities (including Schools registered as charities for young people with disabilities) that work with disadvantaged children under 25 can apply for funding of up to £10,000. Of particular interest are projects that provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people to fulfil their potential and educational activities that develop learning, motivation and skills. Projects could, for example, support special educational needs, address behavioural problems, promote citizenship, parenting, or life skills.

The McCarthy Stone Foundation has announced that its Community Grants Programme has re-opened for applications. The programme awards up to £7,500 to charities and community organisations such as registered charities, community groups, and community interest companies for projects that tackle loneliness amongst older people in England, Scotland and Wales. Grants can be both for core and project costs. The closing date for applications will be the 23rd August 2024.

The Barclays Community Football Fund access grants aim to support grassroots community groups, working within the most deprived areas of the UK. The funding is targeting organisations providing accessible football activities for the most underrepresented groups of young people.
