VOSCUR has launched the Skills 4 Social Purpose Programme.
This new programme is being delivered in partnership with the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and a whole host of organisations spanning the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector.
The programme will support 30 women from priority groups that have been identified as facing barriers to entering the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, either as a volunteer or as paid employee.
The programme will provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on the lived experience, knowledge and skills they can bring to the VCSE sector. Participants will be supported to complete a programme of study, a series of interesting workshops delivered by local experts, and a voluntary placement within a VCSE organisation. Peer support, and getting to know the other women taking part, will also be a key benefit.
We are currently working with a range of partner organisations to develop volunteer placements. These include advice and advocacy; arts and culture; support for asylum seekers and refugees; childrens’ services; community support; digital and technology; health and wellbeing; food and food poverty; homelessness; older peoples’ services; the outdoors; support for people with physical, mental or neurological disability/neurodivergence; social media and journalism and many, many more! For those interested, support can also be offered around setting up your own organisation.
We are now taking expressions of interest from women who wish to join the programme. Are you:
If so, please email sarah@voscur.org to find out more. We will be taking expressions of interest until the middle of August, so please get in touch asap to reserve your spot!
