A block of disused public toilets in Avonmouth is available for Community Asset Transfer (CAT) bids, where community groups have the chance to manage and run a property to benefit local people.

The toilet building, at the edge of Avonmouth Park on Avonmouth Road, is a single-storey unit with a tiled roof, built some time between 1905 and 1910. It has been vacant since 2005, and the freehold is owned by Bristol City Council.

The ideal tenants would keep an element of the public toilets, but Bristol City Council would be open to use for different community purposes in the remaining space, including private hire for social activities. Tenants would be responsible for maintenance, alterations, insurance and utility bills. 

Bristol City Council welcomes applications from Voluntary, Community and Social Enteprise (VCSE) organisations that meet the criteria in the CAT brief, such as having a clear track record of working in partnership with local people and organisations, and having previous experience of managing a community building (either as a whole organisation, or from their trustees' and board members' previous experience).
