Charity calls for two weeks’ statutory bereavement leave in the UK

The charity Sue Ryder is calling for statutory bereavement leave to support people who are grieving. Whilst statutory paid leave would have an initial cost, Sue Ryder believes the long-term benefits outweigh this and offset the current £23 billion lost to the economy due to grief.

Acas has provided resources to support companies and organisations in dealing with redundancies during coronavirus.

Building Back paper from ACAS calls for more inclusive and flexible workplaces

A new policy paper from Sir Brendan Barber, ACAS Chair from 2014-2020, calls for fairer, more inclusive and flexible workplaces and a new workplace contract as the nation recovers from coronavirus.

NCVO publishes Civil Society Almanac 2020

NCVO has published its latest research on the state of the UK’s VCSE sector.

The Civil Society Almanac is published annually, providing a comprehensive overview of facts and figures relating to the voluntary sector.

Staff Resilience and Mental Health (Childcare and Play Settings)

 

BAND Ltd is running an online course for staff and managers in childcare and play settings, looking at resilience and mental health in the workplace. 

It will explore what stress is, how to increase resilience, look at what rights and responsibilities you have as an employer and employee, and show how to create a workplace wellbeing plan.

The course is linked to a range of Bristol Standard Dimensions, including relationships and interactions, and staffing, leadership and management. 

This training course will take place via Zoom.
