This is a joint consultation organised by Bristol City Council, Brigstowe and Terrence Higgins Trust.

This consultation is part of an exciting joint initiative called Fast Track Cities. Your input will help Bristol to become a Fast Track City which means committing to work together with organisations and communities in the city to organise the HIV response in Bristol. Bristol would like to adopt the UNAIDS goal of ‘Getting to 0’ by 2030 which aims to achieve the shared vision of:

• Zero new HIV infections.
• Zero HIV stigma and discrimination.
• Zero AIDS-related deaths.

These are ambitious targets and we know that resources are limited. However, there are also many exciting developments such as the improvement in HIV medication, U=U*, PrEP**, and for the first time we have seen a reduction in the rate of new HIV diagnoses. But we cannot take our eye off the ball. The Mayor of Bristol will be signing the Fast Track City declaration on Saturday 30th November at a public event - more details to follow.

The purpose of the consultation is to shape Bristol’s Fast Track Cities Action Plan that will steer the work of the Fast Track Cities agenda going forward.

We want to hear from a wide range of voices from different backgrounds and communities: professionals, individuals and community leaders; genders; ethnicities; sexualities; negative and positive individuals. All of your voices are needed to make the Fast Track City initiative a success.

If you are attending in a public/personal capacity i.e. not attending due to a professional capacity, you will be given a recognition payment of £10 as a small thank you for your time and thoughts.

*U=U – Undetectable = Untransmittable. People living with HIV on effective treatment cannot pass the virus onto their sexual partners. **PrEP – Pre Exposure Prophylaxis. A pill taken to prevent an individual from acquiring HIV.
