Being a Good Board Member - online course
This course provides basic information and understanding for new trustees or those who want to refresh their understanding, of what a trustee is, their legal obligations and their role and responsibilities within an organisation.
What is this course about?
It does what it says on the tin! This course gives an overview of the roles and responsibilities of trustees and what it takes to do the role well.

- The roles and responsibilities of board members
- Analyse the strategic role of the board versus the management role
- The principles of good governance
- How to recognise bad practice relating to boards and develop solutions
Who is the course for?
New and existing board members or trustees; anyone thinking about joining a board; those who work with boards and want a new perspective.
What else do you need to know?
The type of constitution your organisation has and its legal identity e.g. Ltd company, Trust, CIC.
You will need a laptop with a camera, microphone, and Wi-Fi. You will not require any additional software. You will be emailed an invitation with a link to join the online training prior to the course.
