Do you love football and value community?

Want to support refugees and asylum seekers here in Bristol? 

Aid Box Community need volunteers to help us to run our weekly Men’s Football group.

  • Tuesdays: 2.15pm - 4.45pm - Lockleaze
  • Wednesdays: 1.45pm - 4.15pm - Central Bristol Location

 

Volunteers role

Within your role you will be part of a team helping to facilitate a safe space for refugee men and men seeking asylum, to come together to play football together, learn from each other, laugh, share skills, and make friendships and truly integrate into each other lives.

The role will include:

  • Setting up the space
  • Organising refreshments
  • Welcoming and registering participants
  • Joining in with football
  • Engaging with attendees, welcoming them and helping them to feel at ease
  • Maintaining a safe space for attendees
  • Tidying up at the end of the session.

 

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Love football and have experience playing  
  • Are passionate about sharing their time and skills and meeting new people
  • Are welcoming and engaging with excellent communication skills
  • Are confident to hold a safe space
  • Are able to lead when needed

*We welcome and encourage applications from those from diverse backgrounds and with additional languages.

 

Our Requirements

  • Individuals must be able to commit to volunteering weekly on a specific day for minimum of 1 year.
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide 2 references and to complete an Enhanced DBS check.

  • Regular Volunteer Wellbeing Support sessions
